Alpha Sigma Alpha alumni will meet at 5 p.m. Friday for refreshments at the Buffalo home of Jackie LoRusso. Following the gathering, members will participate in the "Light the Night" walk in Delaware Park to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.


Joel Knowles will be the guest speaker at a dinner meeting of the Northtowns Christian Women's Connection at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Classics V, Niagara Falls Boulevard, Amherst. His talk is titled "My Vietnam Experience." Elizabeth and Howard Bruce and Charlotte Boorman will have a flag-folding ceremony, and Lillian Stayner and Nancy Behrns will perform a duet.

Patricia L. Herberger, a certified identity theft risk-management specialist, will present a program on identity theft awareness at a meeting of the Southtowns Women's Friendship Club at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in the community center at McKinley Mall, Hamburg.

Guests are welcome.


Beechwood Service Guild will hold its opening meeting Oct. 5 with a coffee hour and membership at 10 a.m., followed by a program performed by the Retired Men's Service Club Chorus. All welcome.


Variety Club Women Tent 7 will present "Hearts of Plenty," its 34th annual luncheon and fashion show, Oct. 6 in Salvatore's Italian Gardens, 6461 Transit Road, Depew. Fashions will be provided by The Jacqueline Shoppe and JC Penney. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner and show at 6:30, followed by a basket auction, raffles and country kitchen. The Suburban Women's Club of Buffalo will have its first away bridge luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 11 in Classics V, 2425 Niagara Falls Blvd., Amherst. New members welcome; for information, call Sylvia at 634-9201.
