Gore signs extension with 49ers

Frank Gore has his new deal from the San Francisco 49ers, 13 days before the season opener. Just as he wished it.

Agent Jason Rosenhaus told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Gore had agreed to terms on a new three-year contract extension that keeps him with the team through 2014. He is set to make $21 million, with $13.5 million in guaranteed money.

Three Sire stakes races tonight

Three divisions of the New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers headline the racing card tonight at Batavia Downs Casino. Each race is worth $40,056. Post time is 6:40 p.m.

Jim Morrill Jr., who drove seven winners at the Downs last Friday, will catch-drive Twin B Hollister in the first Sire Stakes, the fourth race. Twin B Hollister won a $63,665 New York Sire Stakes at Yonkers Raceway the last time out in a lifetime best of 1:56.4. The morning line favorite is Raymond J, who will be driven by Jason Bartlett.
