Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside in downtown Rochester appointed Michael Marsch general manager. Marsch, who earned his MBA from the University at Buffalo, was most recently the general manager of the Heritage Hotel and Conference Center in Southbury, Conn.

Hauptman-Woodward Medical Research Institute in Buffalo appointed Dr. Leigh Allen postdoctoral associate, where she will conduct research in Dr. Andrew Gulick's laboratory. Allen graduated from Wake Forest University and received her Ph.D. from Duke University.

Brain and Spine Center named Dr. David G. Lichter to its professional staff. Lichter received his medical degree from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, and was admitted to Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He completed a neurology residency and fellowship in movement disorders at the University of Rochester before joining the faculty of the Department of Neurology at the University at Buffalo. He is currently clinical professor of Neurology at UB.

Battin Eyecare, located on Abbott Road in South Buffalo, has further expanded into the medical field and now has a second location open at 6175 South Park Ave. in the Village of Hamburg. Battin Eyecare is a family practice and has been a leading supporter of the South Buffalo and Western New York Community. While designing the new facility, recycled materials from various renovated sites around the area were utilized. Stone slabs from One M&T Plaza, pilasters from Buffalo's Electric Tower and light fixtures from the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center are some of the sites from which material was recycled. Battin Eyecare was established in 1952 by James V. Battin and is now owned and operated by father and son, Joseph Battin Sr. and Dr. Joseph Battin Jr. O.D.

Catholic Medical Partners, a network of more than 900 independent practicing physicians in Erie and Niagara counties, recently received Patient Oriented Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance for Cardiovascular Disease, Congestive Heart Failure and Diabetes Disease Management Programs. NCQA is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.
