Rotary Club of Buffalo installed Ronald H. Caruso as the 101st president of its board of directors for a one-year term. Caruso is the president of R.H. Caruso & Co. and has been a member of Rotary Club of Buffalo since 2004. He has served on the board of directors since 2008. Other officers: Vice president, David E. Try-It Distributing Co. appointed Gina M. Bennett director of human resources. Bennett has statewide responsibility for all its employees and subsidiaries -- Saratoga Eagle Sales & Service and Balkan Beverage. Bennett is a graduate of the University at Buffalo and has an MBA from Niagara University. Also, the company named Chris V. Murphy, a CPA, senior accountant and promoted Jerrod LaPointe to junior accountant. Murphy is a UB graduate. LaPointe has worked for the company since 2009. He is a graduate of the University of Maine.

KeyBank named David P. Kraus director of Key's contact centers. Kraus is currently a senior vice president. He is based at the Western New York contact center at 3920 Main St. in Amherst. He has been with the bank since 2006. Kraus holds a bachelor's and master's degree from Niagara University and a graduate degree through the Consumer Bankers Association. The bank also promoted Jeffrey J. Halas to vice president. Halas, previously assistant vice president, is manager of the Hamburg Village branch, located at 25 Main St. He joined the bank in 2001 as an outbound telesales associate.

The Buffalo Transportation Pierce Arrow Museum appointed Kate Ward director of events and volunteers. She will oversee events in the existing museum and the addition, currently under construction, which will feature the Frank Lloyd Wright filling station and expanded event facilities. Ward most recently worked in management and event planning at Buffalo State College.

Sandhill Investment Management named Christopher Kicinski vice president of sales and marketing. Kicinski, a certified public accountant and certified financial planner, graduated from the University at Buffalo.

Five Star Bank appointed Francis C. Hornung Jr. vice president and certificate of deposit account registry service sales manager. He will be responsible for managing the CDARS program and developing new opportunities for Five Star Bank. Most recently, Hornung was vice president and CDARS sales manager at First Niagara Bank. He is a Fredonia State College graduate.

The Buffalo law firm of Hurwitz & Fine named V. Christopher Potenza a member of the firm. Potenza has been with the firm since 2003. He is a graduate of Cornell University and the University at Buffalo School of Law, where he continues to serve as a mentor.

Christine Rivera, agency programs manager at the Food Bank of Western New York, was recently presented the Young Dietitian of the Year award by the WNY Dietetic Association. Rivera is also president-elect of the WNYDA 2011-12 Board/Operations Council.
