Rough, not ready: The offense looked ragged again Thursday but quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said a lot of it had to do with the team installing new plays, something they would have addressed earlier during OTAs and minicamps.
"When you have the OTAs and the minicamps, a lot of the time you're kind of working through the kinks and the struggles," Fitzpatrick said. "Then when you get to training camp you're kind of geared up and ready to go. We've put in some new stuff the last few days and we're just not there yet. We'll get there."
Sideline views: The defense locked in and recorded three interceptions, the first by linebacker Nick Barnett, one by strong safety Bryan Scott and the last by cornerback Reggie Corner that bounced off a receiver, was tipped by corner Aaron Williams then collected by Corner in the end zone.
"They're making a lot of plays over there," Fitzpatrick said about the secondary. "It's been a competitive camp. You have to take your hats off to those guys because they're coming out and practicing hard every day and I know that our receivers are making them better and they're making our receivers better because of the competitiveness over there."
Absent: Sitting out practice Thursday were Craig Davis, Chris Hairston, Kellen Heard, Shawne Merriman, Shawn Nelson, Justin Rogers, Kelvin Sheppard and Chris White.
Schedule: Practices are closed for the rest of the season.
Quote of the Day: "All in all, we're better than we were last year at this time. We have another year: under this staff, in the scheme, being around each other and knowing each other's mannerisms. Obviously, we have a lot of young guys in. We're all working hard. We have tons of work left to do. We're still in camp mode."
