Arthur E. Mullen of Cheektowaga, a retired market manager for Ford Motor Co., died Tuesday in Buffalo General Hospital. He was 77.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Mullen was a 1952 graduate of Bishop Timon High School. He worked for Ford 36 years, working his way up through the ranks to the position of market manager for the Buffalo District, from which he retired in 1989.
He was the recipient of a Distinguished Achievement Award from Ford in 1972.
An active member of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Church, Mr. Mullen was instrumental in starting bingo games there in 1977, and had served as treasurer and president of the church school's parent teacher association in the late 1970s.
Mr. Mullen also was a past chairman of the annual Christmas Fair and had served as a church trustee since 1997.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, the former Elaine Basil; two sons, Arthur J. and Timothy; four daughters, Mary Kay Wagner, Colleen Eisenhardt, Sharon Lederhouse and Margaret Jean Weglarski; and three sisters, Margaret Brehm, Maureen Hecht and Kathleen Massimi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church, 157 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga.
