Sister Dolores Ann May, a teacher and guidance counselor for many years, died Tuesday in St. Mary of the Angels Health Center, Williamsville. She was 91.
The Buffalo native entered the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Third Order Regular in Williamsville in 1939 and made her final vows in 1944.
She received a bachelor's degree from Canisius College and a master's degree from the Catholic University of America. She also took courses in administration and management from the University of Notre Dame and Fordham University.
Sister Dolores Ann taught in St. James and Visitation elementary schools in Buffalo.
Later, she taught or served as guidance counselor at Bishop Neumann High School in Williamsville, Bishop O'Hern High High School in Buffalo and St. Mary's High School in Lancaster.
Sister Dolores Ann served as director of novices for the Sisters of St. Francis, Third Order Regular, for 12 years.
She also spent several years as assistant administrator of St. Mary's Manor in Niagara Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. today in St. Mary of the Angels Convent, 201 Reist St., Williamsville.
