WALK FOR RESEARCH: The Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network is sponsoring the "Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward a Cure" at 10 a.m. Saturday in Delaware Park, 17 Meadowview Place, to raise money for food allergy research, education, advocacy and awareness. SPORTING LICENSES: The sale of sporting licenses gets under way at 9 a.m. Monday in the Lancaster Town Clerk's Office at 21 Central Ave. Licenses may be purchased between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. To expedite purchase of a license, bring a driver's license or a previous sporting license.

FLAPJACK FUNDRAISER: New Directions Youth and Family Services, a Western New York provider of services for at-risk children and families, and Applebee's will host the Flapjack Fundraiser from 8 to 10 a.m. Sundayin the Lockport Applebee's, 5822 S. Transit Road. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, juice for a $5 donation. Proceeds fund the schools's annual student picnic at Henrietta G. Lewis Campus School, which is one of the most popular events of the year. The picnic, which rewards students for their work and dedication during the school year, includes a barbecue, activities and professional entertainment.

VOLUNTEER DAY: Truman Elementary will hold its Playground Volunteer Day at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the school, 15 Inner Drive, Lackawanna. Volunteers are needed to help spread mulch for the new playground.
