CENTRAL WHARF: Explore and More at Central Wharf, on the Waterfront Boardwalk, will present "The Story of Buffalo" from noon to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Children of all ages can have some old-fashioned fun with the materials that built the City of Buffalo -- cobblestones and brick.

CHOWDER SALE: The Bergholz Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary will hold its monthly chowder and baked goods sale at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Truck Hall on Niagara Road. The price is $3.50 per quart or $14 a gallon, with purchaser's own container, and $1.50 per bowl.

BIKE RIDE: The 27th annual Tour of Chautauqua Bike Ride will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, originating and finishing in front of Eason Hall, 23 Elm St., Westfield. Helmets are required. Recreational tours of courses of 25, 40, 62, 75 and 100 miles are offered, with a meal at the finish. Entries on the day of the ride are $20 and include a Tour of Chautauqua water bottle.
