Blum's to move into Williamsville

A well-known women's swimwear and clothing store will be moving a short distance along Main Street into Williamsville, to the space formerly occupied by the now-defunct Pitt Petri gift store, its new landlord announced this week.

Iskalo Development Corp. said Blum's Swimwear and Intimate Apparel will relocate to the developer's building at 5727 Main St. at North Ellicott Street.

Blum's will occupy the front retail portion of the building. The building also has a 2,500-square-foot professional office suite in the rear that is available for lease, Iskalo said.

"We're pleased to help Blum's find a location that lets them expand while still remaining in this vibrant commercial corridor," said Paul B. Iskalo, the developer's president and CEO. "Boutique retailers such as Blum's are making consumers take positive notice of the Village of Williamsville business district, which is fast becoming one of the region's most distinctive shopping and dining destinations."

Renovation of the building has begun, and the new location will open in November. Until then, Blum's will operate from its current site in the Walker Center in Amherst.

"The robust shopping district in Williamsville helped us to become very successful, to the point where we outgrew our current space and needed to expand," said Lynn Siegel, owner of Blum's.
