Five Spot / Quick hitters on the light side

1. AN APPARENT WRONG TURN

Pee Wee Herman (above) visited the Dallas Cowboys' practice at the Alamodome in San Antonio last week, as he was in town filming a movie. How did anyone pick him out when he mingled with the Cowboys' roster?

2. GET READY TO LAUGH

Former Browns coach Eric Mangini has been hired as an analyst by ESPN. That's a surprise -- when Mangini was coaching, his work in news conferences made Bill Belichick seem exciting and controversial by comparison.

3. DEFINITION NEEDED

Syracuse running back Prince-Tyson Gulley, when asked about an incident in which he received multiple stab wounds, said, "It's not a setback." I'd hate to see exactly what Gulley considers a setback.

4. ONCE MORE WITH FEELING

Ed Sabol of NFL Films was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. His induction speech was replayed immediately following its conclusion, but shown in slow motion with dramatic music behind it.

5. WIN ONE FOR THE ...

Saturday was "Ronald Reagan Day" at Wrigley Field in Chicago. You guessed it -- no lefties were allowed in the batting order.
