A top oncologist for Roswell Park Cancer Institute will address the topic, "What Is Cancer and Its Cure?" Bring a dish to pass. The cost is $10, prepaid, and $15 at the door. KIDS RUN: Downtown Jamestown Development Corporation will conduct its first 1K Kids Run at 11 a.m. Friday Aug. 26, in conjunction with the Farmers' Market Youth Day beginning at Renaissance Center on Third Street. Check-in is at 10:30 a.m. Any child preregistered by Wednesday will receive an official race T-shirt. There will be post-race activities for everyone to enjoy, consisting of face painting, a magic show, petting zoo, bounce house, games and healthy snacks. INPUT SESSION: The Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association will hold a public input session at 6 p.m. Thursday, in the Alzheimer's Association office, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Suite 6, Amherst, to solicit views, comments and perspectives on the development of a successful National Alzheimer's Plan.
