STATE PARKS LIFEGUARD EXAM: The state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, which is facing an urgent need for lifeguards at state parks, will hold a lifeguard exam at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Kiernan Center at Niagara University in Lewiston. DRIVER'S COURSE: A state-certified, six-hour point- and insurance-reduction course will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in Kenmore Mercy Hospital, 2950 Elmwood Ave., Town of Tonawanda. Those completing the course will receive 10 percent off their collision and liability auto insurance for three years and up to four points off their driver's license.
