KLINE, Daniel W.

KLINE - Daniel W. Age 90 of Niagara Falls, NY entered into rest peacefully on June 26, 2011 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 5, 1921 to the late Ralph and May (Fry) Kline, Sr. He graduated from LaSalle High School and as a teen worked as an usher at the former Bellevue Theatre. Daniel attended Niagara University and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II from 1942-1945. He was in the Normandy Invasion, stationed in Paris, as a single corman until the Battle of the Bulge. Then he was transferred to the Infantry and spent the remainder of the war in Germany. He was employed as a sheet metal worker at Union Carbide in Niagara Falls for 30 years and served as secretary of the union for several years. Daniel enjoyed boating, sailing and motorcycling in his younger years, and up to his death enjoyed walking. He was very self serving and thought of others. He cared for his late wife, June Kline for 13 years and sister for two years. Up to his death, he was living and assisting with his brother and sister. Survivors include a sister, Altha Kline; two brothers, David R. and Ralph W. Kline; a dear friend, Kenneth Berner, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews; also predeceased by three sisters, Ruth Gross, Martha Williams and Gertrude Mason. Graveside services will be held in Acacia Park at the convenience of the family, with no prior visitation. Arrangements were by the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME.
