HEALTHeLINK, Western New York's clinical information exchange, named Cheryl Howe chairwoman of its 2011 board of directors. Howe is executive vice president of operations at BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York. Other officers: vice chairmen, Dr. Michael Cropp, president and CEO of Independent Health and Dr. David Scamurra, pathologist with X-Cell Laboratories of WNY. The New York State Bar Association named James R. Barnes chairman of the Young Lawyers Section of the association. Barnes is an associate of Burke & Casserly. A native of Buffalo, he graduated from the University at Binghamton and earned his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law.

The Western New York Alliance for Person-Centered Care's executive director Rhonda Rotterman was a speaker at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services fourth annual New York Regional Office Stakeholders' Conference recently in New York City. Rotterman spoke on the federal government's new CMS guidance.

Delacy Ford raised nearly $5,000 for the National Honor Society and Student Government at Iroquois High School through the Ford Motor Co.'s Drive One 4 UR School program. Ford Motor Company donated $20 for each person who test drove a Ford vehicle at Iroqouis High School.
