Jeanne Marie Smith-Fallon, a Montessori teacher, died June 15 in her Grand Island home. She was 61.
Born in Buffalo, she was a graduate of Riverside High School, earned her bachelor's degree in education from Buffalo State College and received her master's degree in education from Canisius College.
She taught in the Buffalo Public Schools for more than 20 years. A trained Montessori teacher, she was a faculty member at Bennett Park Montessori Center. She was well-traveled and was featured in a Japanese documentary film about teaching.
Surviving are her husband, Sean Patrick Fallon; three sons, Matthew Smith, Zachary Smith and Brendan Fallon; her mother, Janice Fields; a sister, Christine Jasper; and a brother, Jerrold Fields.
A celebration of her life will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday in Kaiser Funeral Home, 1950 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island.
