COMING UP

HEARING EVALUATIONS: The Brothers of Mercy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 10570 Bergtold Road, Clarence, will hold free hearing evaluations from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today. The evaluations will be conducted in the senior care facility's speech and language pathology department by Marie Ryan, a therapist with Buffalo Hearing and Speech. EPIC ENROLLMENT: EPIC, the New York State senior prescription plan, will sponsor open enrollment to assist eligible senior citizens in filling out applications and answer questions about how EPIC works with the Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage Plans. Enrollment will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Friends to the Elderly, 118 E. Utica St. Senior citizens are asked to bring proof of age and 2010 income documentation. SOLO EXHIBITION: R.H. Stamps will feature some of his most recent works in a solo exhibition opening from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Ave. at Portage Road, Niagara Falls. The exhibition, which runs through Aug. 28, will feature Stamps' oil painting and photography and original poetry written and performed by the artist.

CONGRESS ON YOUR CORNER: The office of Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, will host satellite hours from 9 to noon Friday in the Forestville Fire Hall, 18 Chestnut St. Constituents will be able to discuss issues including Social Security, veterans affairs, citizenship and immigration. RECEPTION AND FASHION SHOW: Dream Believe Know It Foundation will present a reception at 6 p.m. and fashion show at 7:30 Sunday at its annual Youth Education and Leadership Conference in Millennium Hotel and Resort, 2040 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. Cost for VIP ticket is $60 and includes a black-tie reception, VIP seating and gift bag. General admission is $35 and includes the fashion show and general seating.
