The third Tom Borrelli Memorial Golf Tournament will be held July 27 at Holland Hills Country Club. The event benefits the Tom Borrelli Memorial Award and Scholarship Fund.

The awards, which will go to Western New York's top senior male and female lacrosse players, will be presented at the dinner following the tournament. The $100 cost per golfer includes golf (10 a.m. shotgun scramble), cart, chicken and ribs dinner, one-hour open bar and prizes. There will also be raffles and drawings.

To register or to donate to the fund, mail a check payable to the Tom Borrelli Memorial Award and Scholarship Fund, along with the names of golfers, dinner guests and a contact e-mail address and a phone number to: Tom Borrelli Memorial Award, Sports Department, The Buffalo News, P.O. Box 100, Buffalo, NY 14240.

There will also be a pre-tournament raffle with prizes to include a Ryan Miller autographed stick, Buffalo Bills golf bag, framed Augusta National photo poster, Jim Kelly autographed football and more. Raffle tickets are $5 each or three for $10. Call the sports department at 849-4461.

The next meeting of the Buffalo Bills Booster Club will be Friday at the Paul Maguire Suite in Ralph Wilson Stadium, 7:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Howard Simon from WGR radio and Denny Lynch, former Archive Director, will be available with news from the Bills. Call 685-3247.

Cheektowaga United edged the Clarence Coyotes to win the U10 championship of the Odenbach Tournament in West Seneca. Cheektowaga won a shootout over Kenton Galaxy thanks to a clutch save by goalie Jimmy Porter, the tournament MVP. United also triumphed over Holland All-Stars (11-1) and Grand Island Impact U9 (3-0). Members of the Cheektowaga team are: Porter, Seth Schlosser, Matthew Ricchiazzi, Devin Connolly, Andy Pufpaff, Sammy Beuller, Alex Jauch, Tanner Quigley, Alex Raczynski, Eman Wajed, A.J. Wellenc and Nathan Maines. Tom Raczynski is head coach. Steve Wellenc is assistant coach.

The 18U girls fastpitch softball team representing Amherst Lightning completed an undefeated weekend at 6-0, in the 15th Annual Coca-Cola Classic ASA Regional Qualifier Tournament at Walden Ponds Park in Lancaster. The team consists of Jenna Allers (Wmsv. East), Jaclyn Bellanti (Kenmore East), Kate Brownell (Oakfield/Alabama), Lindsay Chatt (Genesee CC), Ashley Covel (Oakfield/Alabama), Alyssa Dewes (Clarence), Ryleigh Fitzgerald (Lew-Port), MacKenzie Kehlenbeck (Oakfield/Alabama), Lydia Monin (Buffalo Arts), Emilye Rybarczyk (Amherst) and Sadie Stuart (Falconer). The team is coached by Jeff Coval, Mike Fitzgerald and Joe Bellanti.

The Lightning will compete in the ASA 18U Nationals in Canton, Ohio at the end of July.

BASKETBALL: Teams are needed in open B and C leagues starting next Monday. Call 839-9330. Buffalo Niagara Court Center will run an eight week youth summer clinic from July 6 through August 24. The clinic runs Wednesdays 6 p.m. to 7, and is open to boys and girls in grades 4-8. The cost is $100. Visit www.bnccsports.com. Daemen College is still accepting registrations for both weeks of their girls basketball camps on June 27-July 1 and July 25-29. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Call 839-8336. FOOTBALL: The "Be The Best" Offensive and Defensive Lineman Camp will be held June 25-27 at Depew High School from 8:30 a.m. to noon and at Fredonia High School from 2:30 to

Carnegie and Hamburg Little Loop will co-sponsor a youth football camp with the Frontier high school football coaching staff. HOCKEY: USA Selects National camps will be in Rochester starting Friday. Some local players will compete with the top players at their ages in the nation. Select 16: June 24-30. Select 17: July 7-13.
