Rehab cuts into tour ...

Bon Jovi announced that Richie Sambora will miss dates on its current tour amid reports that the guitarist is heading to rehab.

In a statement released Thursday, the group said its support for Sambora was "absolute" and that he remained a member of the band. But it also said he would miss an undetermined number of concerts and that it looked forward to his "healthy return."

Neither the band nor its publicist would confirm or deny reports that Sambora planned to enter rehab. He went to rehab a few years ago.

Hilton burglar convicted ...

A jury took less than hour on Friday to convict a man of attempting to burglarize Paris Hilton's home last year while the heiress was inside.

Nathan Lee Parada, 31, was convicted of first-degree attempted residential burglary and faces up to three years in prison when he is sentenced on June 29, said district attorney's spokeswoman Jane Robison.

Hilton testified this week about her and her boyfriend being awoken early on Aug. 24 after Parada banged on one of her home's windows with the butt of a knife.

Her boyfriend, Cy Waits, detained Parada at gunpoint until police arrived. While being interviewed by detectives, Parada said he wanted to steal as much as he could from the house and planned to move to a deserted island after the burglary, according to testimony in the case.

He also told detectives he found Hilton's Hollywood Hills home after buying a map showing stars' homes, and waited outside for hours before trying to break in.

A defense attorney told jurors that Parada had left a halfway house days earlier and had not taken his antidepressant medication for several days.

Waits was accosted on his way into the courthouse to testify against Parada on Wednesday. On Thursday, the man who hit Waits, James Rainford, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and was sentenced to 227 days in jail for the attack and a probation violation.
