MARCH AGAINST CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT: The Citizens Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect will sponsor a march to prevent child abuse and neglect from 11:45 a.m. to noon Friday from Lafayette Square to the steps of City Hall. At noon, a rally will feature public officials and providers of services, along with foster and adoptive parents and the children who have been saved from abuse and neglect.

BUFFALO RIVER WORKSHOP: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host a stakeholder workshop from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday in the West Seneca Senior Center, 4620 Seneca St. The corps is assessing the opportunity for a Buffalo River Watershed Study. 3K WALK: Villa Maria College will host a 3K Walk and Health and Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 240 Pine Ridge Road. The fee is $15 adults and $10 students and includes refreshments, T-shirt and raffle for a 19-inch color TV. The health fair is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers free health screenings and demonstrations from major organizations throughout Western New York.

BIRD HIKE: The Western New York Land Conservancy, a regional land trust that protects land with significant conservation value in Western New York for future generations, will present a birding hike with Bill Broderick from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Nature View Park, 1040 Tonawanda Creek Road, Amherst. PRESCRIPTION DRUG DROP-OFF: D'Youville College will provide a drive-in drug drop-off site from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the college library parking lot, accessible from Fargo Avenue. D'Youville pharmacy students and faculty will assist individuals dropping off drugs. Buffalo police will provide security for the event.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION The Genesee County Park and Forest is hosting an Earth Day celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Genesee County Park and Forest Interpretive Nature Center, 11095 Bethany Center Road,n East Bethany. The celebration begins with a cleanup effort, followed by children's crafts and orienteering with the Sea Cadets. Free tree seedlings will be distributed. Pizza will be served for lunch. CAZENOVIA STREET CLEANUP: The annual Earth Day/Arbor Day Cleanup of Cazenovia Street is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturdayin front of Grace Lutheran Church, 174 Cazenovia St. Brooms, shovels, gloves, garbage bags and seeds will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own tools, if desired.
