Groundwork Buffalo named Kevin Powers program director. Powers is responsible for Groundwork Buffalo's Green Team Program, an environmental education and career-training program for high school youth. Previously, Powers spent six years as the Urban Conservation Corps leader for the Student Conservation Association's Washington, D.C.-based high school programs. He also has 10 years of experience in trail building and maintenance, including volunteer and seasonal work in the Rocky Mountains and along the Appalachian Trail in Virginia and Maryland. Groundwork Buffalo is a local affiliate of the Groundwork USA Network, a group of independent, not-for-profit environmental businesses called Groundwork Trusts working with communities in conjunction with the National Parks Service and the Environmental Protection Agency to improve the environment, economy and quality of life.

Fidelis Care, the New York State Catholic Health Plan, promoted Robin Smith to outreach specialist and Sherry Himmelback and Susan Rodgers to contract maintenance coordinators in the Western Regional Office.
Smith, who joined the company in 2010, previously served as a marketing representative. Himmelback joined the company as a file room associate in 2010 and most recently served as a clerk for the Provider Database Management Department. Most recently a system resolution specialist, Rodgers joined the company as a claims processor in 2004.

Dr. Cynthia Fan, a women's imaging radiologist from Windsong Radiology Group, presented her research abstract titled "Impacts of Pre-Surgical Breast MRI on Surgical Planning -- A Retrospective Analysis" at the 35th annual symposium of the American Society of Breast Disease recently in Dallas. Fan was given the Breast Journal Award for her research paper and presentation.
