LOCK-UP: The Muscular Dystrophy Association of Western New York TNT Lock-up will be held Tuesday in Texas Roadhouse Restaurant, 900 Young St., City of Tonawanda. The MDA Lock-Up Program seeks out prominent local business people to raise bail to send Jerry's kids to summer camp. The bail for the program is set at $1600, which sends two children to summer camp.

ARTISTS DISCUSSION: Nicholas Kahn and Richard Selesnik, two collaborating artists, will discuss their projects and processes at 6 p.m. Thursday in Upton 230 at Buffalo State College, 1300 Elmwood Ave. Kahn and Selesnik are imaginative storytellers, creative and innovative set designers and skilled photographers. The event is free to the public.

PARENT WORKSHOP: Dr. Thomas Langan, a neurologist at Women & Children's Hospital and University at Buffalo Neurology, will present a free workshop on head injuries and ways to prevent them from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the Wick Social Room at Daemen College, 4380 Main St., Snyder. LITERACY RUN: Registration deadline for the 5th annual Cummins 5K run/walk for Literacy is next Friday. The cost is $17, and the first 200 people will receive a commemorative T-shirt. The race, which will be held at 9 a.m. May 7, will benefit the Prendergast Library Literacy Center, Jamestown. Registration forms are available at the library, 509 Cherry St., or online.
