Woman admits child porn charge

In an extremely rare occurrence, a woman pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge in Buffalo's federal court.

Angela L. Jenkins, 35, of Lowell, Mich., admitted to a felony charge of receiving child pornography over the Internet. The U.S. Attorney's office said Jenkins is the first female ever to plead guilty to the charge in Western New York.

Jenkins, who has five children and receives public assistance, sobbed as she pleaded guilty on Monday before U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny.

Buffalo FBI agents arrested her last September when she traveled from her home near Grand Rapids, Mich., to an Amherst department store parking lot, where she had arranged over the Internet to meet a 16-year-old youth and have sex with him.

The youth, who lives in the Buffalo area, was 15 when he met Jenkins and was 16 when he had sex with her, prosecutor Aaron J. Mango said.

According to the FBI, Jenkins and the youth began to communicate online in 2009 when both were playing an online war game called "World of Warcraft."

"The relationship progressed into online chats, e-mails and telephone calls. In the spring of 2010, the conversations turned sexual in nature," Mango said.
