Dopkins & Company, certified public accountants and consultants, announced William M. Prohn, managing director of Dopkins System Consultants, the information systems and technology consulting division of the firm, was awarded the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control designation.

SKM Group, a Depew-based marketing communications agency, appointed Steve Fazio art director and Amy Dauber traffic manager. Fazio previously was a senior graphic designer at Partners' Press. He earned his bachelor's degree from Canisius College. Dauber previously worked as a junior account executive at Horizon Media. She is a graduate of the University at Buffalo.

Cattaraugus County Bank president and CEO Sal Marranca was elected chairman of the Independent Community Bankers of America for 2011-12.

Uniland Development Company senior marketing manager Therese J. Hickok was recently on a panel for Canisius College Women's Leadership Conference for students throughout WNY titled, "Honoring Our Progress, Shaping Our Future." Also, company director of capital markets group Peter Sayadoff served as a panelist for an event hosted by the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, "Access to Credit."

Quaker Chemical, parent company of Summit Lubricants, located in Batavia, recently launched an associate volunteerism program in North America called Quaker's Formula For Giving. The program encourages employees to take one paid work day in 2011 to spend in a volunteering capacity. The company will coordinate group activities with local nonprofit organizations. Alternately, associates can choose to volunteer on their own with any charity of their choosing. Associates in the Batavia location voted for 2011 group activities to take place with Community Action of Orleans & Genesee (Genesee County); Lothlorien Therapeutic Riding Center (East Aurora); and Camp Good Days.
