Mary L. Clark, a missionary with Sanctuary of God Church of God in Christ, died Thursday in Harbour Health Multicare Center, Buffalo. She was 81.
Born in South Carolina, Mrs. Clark came to Buffalo in 1951. She also worked at American Precision in East Aurora.
Active in her church for decades, Mrs. Clark was a member of Sanctuary of God and served as one of the church mothers.
She also served as a district missionary for more than 10 years and was responsible for Church of God in Christ churches in Niagara Falls and as far away as Elmira.
Family members said her legacy was her non-negotiable principles, each one of them rooted in honesty, devoutness and a hospitable spirit.
"You were either right or wrong," said her daughter, Cynthia A. Felder. "There was no in-between. She always said that."
Survivors also include five sons, Lemuel O., Eugene Jr., Darnell G. and the Revs. Benjamin and Elvin, and two sisters, Sarah Solomon and Hazel Frederick.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Good Samaritan Church of God in Christ, 261 Cleveland Drive, Cheektowaga, after a wake at 10.
