1. L.A. STORY

A Los Angeles jury dismissed a lawsuit by former Clippers GM Elgin Baylor, who claimed economic and mental distress after his 2008 dismissal. Baylor said the pressure of making the first pick in the NBA draft for 15 straight years was more than he could bear.

2. WHEN HUNGER STRIKES

It was a tough Opening Day for Yankees starter CC Sabathia. He got a no-decision against the Tigers, and Lady Gaga refused to let him touch her meat suit.

3. UNDER RADAR

Giants pitcher Barry Zito was taken to a hospital for X-rays after being involved in a car accident in West Hollywood. Asked if Zito was going too fast, police said no, his location was just off.

4. BUCS STOP HERE

The Somali pirates have asked the Pittsburgh baseball team to change its name, saying it is hurting their reputation.

5. THE MOUTHS OF BABES

Spanish tennis player David Ferrer hit a tennis ball toward a crying baby during his match in Key Biscayne, Fla., on Wednesday after losing a point while the child was making noise. The stunned baby was quoted as saying, "You CAN'T be serious!"
