The Buffalo Invaders U17 Girls finished in fourth place in the US National League following their final three games against teams in Las Vegas, Nevada. The team's wins included a victory over the nation's third ranked team the SO Cal Blues. The team is the first ever from WNY to qualify for the National League. Team members include coach Rudy Pikuzinski Jr., coach Rudy Pikuzinski III, Marissa Lombard, Zoe Jackson-Gibson, Jenna Raepple, Alexis Koral, Chrissie Reville, Emma Bracken, Catherine Williams, Aliya Aziz, Christina Sarokon, Lexi Kroese, Lexi Panepinto, Kaitlyn Moore, Jenny Piaggione, Nicolette Charboneau, Jenna Panepinto, Gabriella Balseca, and Jenn Schintzius.

BASKETBALL: The fourth annual Ballin' For A Cause Charity Basketball Tournament will take place April 16 and 17 at UB Alumni Arena. The event draws teams from Rochester, Syracuse and New York City to compete for a $1,000 cash prize. All proceeds benefit local charities and non-profit youth organizations. FOOTBALL: St. John Fisher head coach Paul Vosburgh will be the featured clinician at the WNY Football Coaches Association meeting and free coaches clinic Monday at the Lancaster Elks Lodge, 33 Legion Parkway. Youth, high school and college coaches are welcome. Call 681-7443.

GYMNASTICS: The Spring Graffiti Gymnastics Invitational will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Buffalo Niagara Court Center, 425 Meyer Road, West Seneca. More than 500 gymnasts ages 6 to 18 from Western New York and Rochester are expected to compete. Public admission is $8 adults, $4 children ages 5-17, and free for children 4 and under. SOCCER: Registration for the Newfane Soccer Club's 2011 recreation season will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Newfane Town Hall on Main Street. Games are played on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Krull Park in Olcott starting June 21. Visit

SOFTBALL: The North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation & Parks will hold registration through April 8 for the Red-White & Blue Softball league, open to females ages 5-17. Register at the Department of Youth Recreation & Parks office, 500 Wheatfield St. Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Birth certificate required.
