William S. Farley, owned Farley Riggers & Movers; Sept. 9, 1935 -- March 26, 2011

William S. Farley , owner of Farley Riggers & Movers, died Saturday in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo. He was 75.

Born in Lockport, Mr. Farley attended Lockport schools and served in the Army in 1954 and 1955.

Throughout his life, Mr. Farley worked for the family's business, Farley Riggers & Movers in Lockport, which was founded in 1919 and is known throughout Western New York for crane service, demolition work and moving heavy equipment.

Mr. Farley was owner and president of the company since 1981, working up until his illness.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, the former Marcia M. Van Dusen; three daughters, Cheryl Stenberg, Pauline, and Carla Coday; a son, Jeffrey; a sister, Margaret Dunbar; and a brother, Mauricey.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St.
