The 10th Annual Athletes In Action Call to Courage Award Breakfast will be held on April 9 at 9 a.m. in the Hyatt Regency Hote,l and five WNY high school student-athletes are finalists for the Call to Courage Leadership Award.
Senior Joe Parrott, quarterback from Wilson; junior Max Russell, defensive and offensive lineman from Newfane; senior MacKenzie Ward, defensive back from Clarence; senior Jason Forshee, offensive and defensive lineman from Springville; and senior Shayne Daley, wide receiver and defensive back from Lackawanna.

BOATING: The Buffalo Launch Club's Boater's Seminar and Luncheon will take place from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. April 9. Nine marine law enforcement organizations will be on-hand to field questions. FUNDRAISER: There will be a fundraiser to benefit high school football official Dick Schwede on April 4 from 7-11 p.m. at Ilio DiPaolo's Restaurant in Blasdell. This is a tribute to Schwede, who celebrated his 40th season in 2010, and for the past 15 years has been the President of the WNY Chapter of Certified Football Officials Association. Tickets are $30 and include open bar, pizza, wings, roast beef and snacks. A drawing of premier gift baskets will be held at halftime of the NCAA basketball championship. GOLF: Pro Golf Discount and the Town of Tonawanda will host Demo Fest 2011 on Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Paddock Chevrolet Golf Dome, 175 Brompton Road, Tonawanda.
