>St. Patrick's Day Parade steps off at 2 p.m. today

The luck of the Irish will be celebrated in Buffalo today with the annual St. Patrick's Day parade.

The parade begins at 2 p.m. in Niagara Square, and proceeds north on Delaware Avenue to North Street.

This year's Grand Marshal is Patrick F. (Rick) O'Sullivan Jr., of South Buffalo. His mother, Janet O'Sullivan, will be deputy grand marshal.

>Bridge Commission giving funds for War of 1812 events

LEWISTON -- The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission will donate a total of $70,000 Monday to three organizations that are making plans to observe the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812.

The 10 a.m. ceremony at commission headquarters on Military Road will bring funds to the Historical Association of Lewiston, Friends of Fort George and the Niagara 1812 Bicentennial Legacy Council.

The Bridge Commission operates the three international bridges in Niagara County.

>Town will get $20,000 to investigate sewer leaks

WHEATFIELD -- The Town Board last week agreed to a contract with Niagara County Sewer District No. 1 that would give the town $20,000 to find groundwater leaks into the sewer system.

Water and Sewer Department head Rich Donner said he planned to buy video equipment with the money to search the water mains and sewer laterals to find where water is entering the sewer lines.

The county is granting the funds to about six towns to reduce the amount of infiltration and inflow into the sewer system. Donner noted that the county is trying to stem the large amount of water coming into the plant that does not need to be treated.

>Car, motorcycle show to be held next weekend

The 2011 Buffalo Motorama will be held March 25 through 27 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

Presented by Mighty Taco, the car and motorcycle show will feature rare and original muscle cars as well as exotic, custom and race cars and motorcycles.

>National College Fair planned March 29 and 30

The Buffalo National College Fair will be held March 29 and 30 in Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

The annual event runs from 9 a.m. to noon and 6 to 8:30 p.m. on March 29; and 9 a.m. to noon on March 30. The fair is sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling and hosted by the New York State Association for College Admission Counseling.

The event is free to the public.
