Clarence-based New Buffalo Shirt Factory will print tens of thousands of T-shirts bearing actor Charlie Sheen's slogan "Duh, winning."
The T-shirts, available this week, will be replicas of the black one with white lettering that the colorful star has worn in recent interviews.
New Buffalo Shirt Factory owner and Vice President Linda Weiss believes the shirts may have been ordered for Sheen's hotly anticipated "Violent Torpedo of Truth Tour," for which initial dates have sold out in just minutes.
"I'm sure these are going to be collectors' items," Weiss said, "because it's pop culture, an impulse for right now, and it's a catch phrase."
Weiss said her company got the order from a major client who won the account.
"He knew we could turn it around," she said. The company hopes the agreement will be extended.
Weiss declined to say how much the agreement was worth.
The phrase "winning" has become ubiquitous since the controversy surrounding Sheen, who calls himself a "warlock," began captivating the public. It has become a flippant response to his detractors and those who question the status of his mental health, his very public addictions and career. Sheen is now embroiled in a lawsuit with CBS over his termination from TV show "Two and a Half Men."
