Patrick Fleming, of Lancaster; Farzad Jalil, Niagara Falls; Sameer Yadav, New Delhi, India; Caitlyn Howe, Pittsford; and Ingmar Haffke, Leer, Germany, MBA students in the University at Buffalo School of Management, comprised the winning team from among four teams of finalists who presented the results of their case analyses at the 15th annual UB MBA Case Competition. The five will share a $2,000 prize. The competition was sponsored by Columbus McKinnon Corp., Ernst & Young LLP and Moog Inc. The UB School of Management is recognized for its emphasis on real-world learning, community and economic impact, and the global perspective of its faculty, students and alumni.

Attorney Jonathan S. Hickey, of Burden, Gulisano & Hickey, recently presented the Continuing Legal Education seminar "Building Your Civil Trial Skills" to an audience of attorneys and insurance industry personnel in association with the National Business Institute.

Watson Bennett named Carolyn Nugent Gorczynski an associate attorney and James H. Cantrell special counsel. Both will work in the law firm's Corporate Department.

Gorczynski received her bachelor's degree from Canisius College and her J.D. from the University at Buffalo. Cantrell, who previously practiced in New York City and Charlotte, N.C., received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and his J.D. from Tulane Law School in New Orleans.

IMMCO Diagnostics, an autoimmune diagnostic products and services provider, has invested $1 million to relocate and operate its expanding UNYLAB Transplant Immunology, Immunogenetics and Diagnostic Immunology testing and consulting services to the Innovation Center at 640 Ellicott St. on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. The new site houses 20 IMMCO employees, with plans to increase this number by 20 percent by the end of the year. Along with the move, UNYLAB will now officially be named IMMCO Diagnostics.

ABC-Amega, a Buffalo-based commercial receivable management firm, announced the release of the latest version of its SoftCall receivables management software. SoftCall, a proprietary software built by ABC-Amega, is designed to efficiently manage and thoroughly document the handling of first-party collection accounts.
