Karen A. Hamam of Lewiston, an administrative assistant with the New York State Power Authority, died Thursday in Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo. She was 67.
Ms. Hamam was born in Niagara Falls, where she was a 1961 graduate of Madonna High School. She later attended Niagara County Community College, where she earned an associate degree.
She was a 28-year employee of the Power Authority. She previously worked at Marine Midland Bank and as a secretary for Mount St. Mary's Hospital.
A jazz enthusiast, Ms. Hamam was a member of the Historic Lewiston Jazz Festival Committee.
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Kucharski and Theresa Marinello, and two sisters, Martha Mae Ellerington and Patricia Hines.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Peter Catholic Church, 620 Center St., Lewiston.
