The Buffalo Yankees won the D Division National Championship in 8-man eligible at the 40th USFTL National Flag Football Championship in Kissimmee, Fla. The Yankees went 5-0 through a 19-team bracket and defeated the VA Pirates, 22-6, to win the championship game. Tournament MVPs included quarterback Mike Ford and safety Tony Johnson.

BASEBALL: Hilbert College will hold a two-day clinic from 9 a.m.-noon Feb. 5-6, for boys ages 7 to 18 at the college and the Upper Deck Baseball facility in Hamburg. It will cover pitching, catching, fielding, base running and hitting. The cost is $80 for two days or $55 for a single day with a $10 multiple sibling discount. BASKETBALL: Medaille College basketball coach Mike MacDonald will host a camp for boys and girls in grades K-6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 21-24 in The Sullivan Center on Medaille's campus. LACROSSE: Gene Tundo Jr., founder of Venus Lacrosse Academy for Women, will run a minicamp for girls of all levels at New Era Park every Saturday in February from 11 a.m. to noon. The Tundo family will also host a boys camp at New Era Park in Blasdell this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The clinic will focus on attack midfield and defense. SKIING: The Third Annual Night on the Slopes to benefit Aspire of WNY will be held at Kissing Bridge in Glenwood from 4-10 p.m. Thursday. Cost is $60 for six hours of skiing or snowboarding, $50 for four hours of tubing, and includes buffet. Buffet ticket only costs $15.
