Edwin L. Rzeszutek of Cheektowaga, a World War II veteran and owner of a truck repair and parts business, died Monday in Sisters Hospital-St. Joseph Campus, Cheektowaga, after a brief illness. He was 87.
Born in Buffalo, one of 10 children in his family, Mr. Rzeszutek graduated from Emerson High School. After high school, he served in the Army Air Forces for three years during World War II.
In the late 1950s, he co-owned Transport Services and Brake Sales, an Ohio Street company that sold truck parts and made truck repairs. The company moved to Perry Street during the 1970s, and Mr. Rzeszutek sold the business in 1997, when he retired.
He is survived by his wife of more than 62 years, the former Theresa Nitkowski; a daughter, Sharon Mastro; two sons, Gary and Tom; and a sister, Helen Senker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 2049 George Urban Blvd., Depew.
