Q: What happened to "Memphis Heat"? It gave us a chance to see the South in action.
-- Phyllis Williams, Garden Grove, Calif.
A: We're guessing that you're actually asking about "Memphis Beat," the Jason Lee-starring TNT series. As we mention so often here, cable series generally have shorter seasons than broadcast network shows do, and that was the situation here. The 10 episodes produced for the first season simply ran out but the series has been renewed, and it will be back either in late spring or the summer.
Q: Some years ago, there was a cartoon called "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist." I am wondering if it is available for purchase on DVD.
-- Tom Flader, Fond du Lac, Wis.
A: Several collections are available from the show, which ran from 1995 to 1999 on Comedy Central. Individual sets of the first and second seasons can be found, plus there's a "Complete Series" set. "The Best of Dr. Katz" also has been issued, compiling selected segments from throughout the run of the program.
Q: I haven't seen anything indicating that "Rizzoli & Isles" is returning. Is it? -- Barbara Wald, Oak Hill, Fla.
A: Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander's TNT show got a pickup for a second season in near-record time. After only three episodes had aired last summer, the network gave the go-ahead for a second round. Expect the new stories to begin turning up in the summer again.
