Jan. 9 to 13 / Niagara County faith-related events

Following is a weekly listing of upcoming faith-related events held around Niagara County.


CHICKEN BBQ: 1:30 to 3 p.m., First Baptist Church, Pettit and Chestnut streets, Wilson. Proceeds to benefit Wilson youth program. Tickets are $8.50 and include chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, roll and butter. Dine in or takeout available. For information or tickets, call 751-6988.

DEVOTIONAL GROUP MEETING: St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 1073 Saunders Settlement Road, Lewiston, Upper Room discussion and devotional at 1 p.m.; Vespers at 6:30; and "Orthodoxy 101," a meeting designed for those wishing to convert or learn more about the Orthodox faith, at 7. CLASS: 7 p.m., St. John de LaSalle Catholic Church school building, 9477 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls. The parish will offer Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults classes to those who wish to receive the Catholic sacraments. The program is free. For information, call 283-2238.



COMMUNITY LUNCHEON: The Outreach Team will serve a lunch that includes entree, sides dishes, dessert and beverage, noon, dining hall, First Presbyterian Church, 311 First St., Niagara Falls.
