PROGRAM: The West Seneca East Middle School's War of 1812 Club invites the community to attend a program with Mason Winfield, author of "Ghosts of 1812" and several books on supernatural folklore in Western New York, at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the school auditorium, 1415 Center Road. FAMILY FILM SERIES: The YWCA Tonawandas and the Riviera Theatre will feature "Megamind," rated PG, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Jan. 22 in the Riviera Theatre, 67 Webster St., North Tonawanda. Ticket prices are $2 per person. A $1 raffle ticket or a nonperishable food item for the YWCA food pantry buys a chance to win a movie poster. All moviegoers are invited to park free in the Manhattan Street parking lot.

CHILL OUT WITH LARS: Lars the Little Polar Bear will appear at B is For Books, 6562 E Quaker St., Orchard Park, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Lars is the creation of Dutch writer/illustrator Hans deBeer. His adventures are chronicled in a series of elegantly illustrated books for children, published since 1987 in 18 countries.
