William Mancini, co-owned Williamsville business ; Oct. 16, 1953 -- Jan. 6, 2011

William Mancini, a business owner and longtime Williamsville resident, died Thursday in a car crash outside Syracuse. He was 57.

Born in Buffalo, Mr. Mancini was a 1972 graduate of Park School and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, in 1976. After graduation, he returned to Buffalo, where he married Sarah Anderson. Together they owned Baby's Bounty children's store in Williamsville until 1988.

Mr. Mancini then started his own wholesale sales company and had offices in Buffalo, Syracuse, New York City and Pittsburgh. He was an avid singer and traveler and was an active proponent of equal rights for women and was a longtime member of the National Organization for Women.

Survivors include his wife, the former Lori J. Malone; three sons, Byron, Trevor and Riley; and three daughters, Danica, Lindsay and Mariah; and his ex-wife, Sarah Anderson DeVantier.

A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the United Church of Christ, 135 Blueberry Road, Liverpool.
