The new and improved Mohawk Place (47 E. Mohawk Place) has dedicated itself to bringing bigger shows to town and presenting them in a vastly updated acoustic environment -- meaning, essentially, they bought a badly needed new PA system, threw up some acoustic baffle, hired a soundman and reupped on the club's long-standing commitment to bringing the finest in underground music to downtown Buffalo.
On Wednesday, we'll see more fruits from the Mohawk crew's labors, as the legendary and still-incendiary New York City hard-core punk outfit Sick of It All makes its Mohawk Place debut. That's big, particularly following the recent sold-out three nights featuring a band that should certainly be seen as a descendant of the Sick of It All ethic, Every Time I Die. Hard-core heads, rejoice! Your favored method of "sticking it to the man" will be celebrated at the 'Hawk once again.
Tickets for Sick of It All are $15 (Ticketmaster.com). Doors open at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
