*The Lewiston Choraleers will begin rehearsals from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Fourth and Ridge streets, Lewiston, for its annual Easter Cantata and spring concert programs. New members are welcome and no audition is required. For more information, call Don Shrimpton at 754-2669.

*The Alden Christian Theatre Society will hold open auditions for the winter production of "Death of a Salesman" from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 18 and 19 in the theater at 1470 Church St., Alden. A one-minute memorized monologue should be prepared. For more information, call Angela Sutter at 713-1170.

*The Subversive Theatre Collective and the New Phoenix Theatre on the Park will hold auditions for the upcoming co-production of "Inherit the Wind" from 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 15 and 16 in the New Phoenix Theatre, 95 N. Johnson Park.

Actors of all ages, ethnicities, genders and experience levels are sought to fill many roles. Auditioners may present up to two contrasting monologues of up to two minutes in length from any source and may also be asked to read excerpts from the play. *Auditions for the Royale Dance Theatre dance-dramas series will take place each weekend in January. Advanced and professional ballet and pointe dancers, adult actors and singers, strong child actors and singers, gymnasts and tap and jazz dancers are sought. *The Buffalo State College Philharmonia Orchestra will hold auditions for new students and community members at 6 p.m. Jan. 24 in Rockwell Hall R-106, 1300 Elmwood Ave. One short solo piece of not more than three minutes must be prepared. Also, one orchestral excerpt should be chosen from the 2010-11 Audition Excerpt List at www.buffalostate.edu/music/philhar-moniaaudition.xml. *Southeast Works is seeking artisans and crafters for its Spring Craft Show, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 19 in its building at 181 Lincoln St., Depew. For more information, call Amanda Baumler at 683-7100, Ext. 212.

The exhibition, "African American Art Exhibition: Celebrating Black History Month," runs Feb. 11 to March 20. Work must be original and made by the artist. Two-dimensional works must be framed and wired for installation and three-dimensional works must have a clean, nonabrasive base or be mounted on a pedestal.

There is a $30 entry fee for the first two pieces and $10 per additional piece. Works can be dropped off to the center at 1201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, from Jan. 29 to Feb. 7.
