Freed Maxick and Battaglia, certified public accountants, named Andrew Ziolo a staff accountant at the Buffalo Tax Department. Previously, Ziolo was a tax auditor trainee II with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance. A graduate of Canisius College, Ziolo has passed all four parts of the CPA exam.
Kenmore Mercy Hospital presented its annual Medical Staff Award recognizing outstanding associates for their service to patients and staff to Mark Basile, physical therapist, and Carol Myers, a registered nurse. Basile, a graduate of Daemen College, began his career at the hospital in 2006. Myers, with the hospital for more than 40 years, graduated from the Highland Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester. Currently, she is a staff and charge nurse on the hospital's 3 West unit.
Great Erie Federal Credit Union, formerly OPCS Federal Credit Union, officially launched its name change and recently completed a drive-through banking facility. The changes are part of an expansion approved by the National Credit Union Administration to extend the credit union's membership to those living, working, worshipping or attending school in southern Erie County.
Choco-Logo Confectionery Design celebrated the fifth anniversary of its factory shop in downtown Buffalo recently with a customer open house. Located at 141 Broadway in a building that dates back to 1896, Choco-Logo's Factory Shop opened in 2005 following an extensive building renovation by owner and chocolatier Dan Johnson.
