Buffamante Whipple Buttafaro, an accounting and business advisory firm, named Christopher M. Soderberg a staff accountant in its Jamestown office. Soderberg is a graduate of Jamestown Community College and Ohio State University.

Russell Bond promoted Richard Smith Jr. to renewal underwriter for the Binding Authority Team. Most recently an underwriter assistant, Smith joined the company in 2005 as a service coordinator. He attended the University at Buffalo. Russell Bond & Co. is an insurance wholesaler based in Buffalo.

The Allstate Minority and Women Emerging Entrepreneurs Program, a joint venture by the UB School of Management's Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and the UB Center for Urban Studies, named Felecia Doctor Protege of the Year. Doctor, owner of My Precious Angels Daycare in Buffalo, received a $1,500 prize for the honor. Other awardees: second place, Donna Scalfaro, owner of Carpet Care Services, Williamsville, $1,000; third place, Kim Cox, owner of Secret Valley Media Labs, Hamburg, and Shandra Roberson, owner of S&W Contracting of WNY, Buffalo, $500 each. Sixteen participants completed the program after entering as proteges last January.

Flynn & Friends Advertising, a Buffalo advertising agency, was retained by Commercial Printing & Imaging, a printing firm located in Cheektowaga. Under the arrangement, the agency will provide branding, creative, website and publicity services to the company, which specializes in both traditional offset and digital printing, tabs, fulfillment and mailing services.

Painters Plus Home Decorating recently celebrated the grand opening of its new and larger showroom and warehouse at 800 Walck Road, North Tonawanda. The company was founded in 2001 by Jesse Gooch.

Erdman, Anthony and Associates, an infrastructure engineering and support services firm, was ranked at 72, up from 79 in 2009, by New York Construction magazine, based on regional design revenues.



The Western New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure awarded a $47,329 grant to WCA Hospital of Jamestown to maximize mammography participation by reaching out to women who have canceled, missed or are overdue for mammogram screening and links them to appropriate resources to get screened.
