Carolina 6, New Jersey 3: Sergei Samsonov and rookie Jeff Skinner scored two goals apiece, and the Hurricanes handed the Devils their 10th straight loss on the road.

Tampa Bay 2, N.Y. Rangers 1 (OT): Nate Thompson scored 19 seconds into overtime for the Lightning, now 8-1-2 in its last 11 games. The Rangers forced extra time when Marian Gaborik tied it with 45.6 seconds left in regulation.

Calgary at Edmonton: Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff is 7-1-0 with a 2.58 goals-against average in his last eight games against the Oilers.

New York Islanders: Traded 41-year-old goalie Dwayne Roloson to the Tampa Bay Lightning for minor league defenseman Ty Wishart. Roloson is 6-13-1 this season with a 2.64 goals-against average.
