From boots to fur, tracking the trends

The tall boot wasn't the only big fashion trend of 2010.

How can we forget about jeggings? Leggings? And all that faux fur? Yes, the fluffy stuff covered vests, trimmed gloves and even showed up as neck warmers.

Chances are you also wore -- or at least spotted -- plenty of the following (and still are!):

*Cardigans -- especially cardigans with ruffle or flower details, longer-length cardigans or cardigans that are longer in front than in back.

*Tunics -- often with angled bottoms for that popular asymmetrical look and a key piece for wearing with leggings or tights to create the popular long-over-narrow silhouette.

*Sweater dresses.

*Fair Isle patterns.

*Animal prints.

*The color olive -- and its close cousins in the green family. Also browns, camels and gray.

*The color turquoise -- for last spring and summer.

*Eco-friendly loungewear and other pieces.

*Military-inspired looks, especially on jackets.

*Pixie haircuts.

*Fake eyelashes.

*Vests. Did we mention faux fur?

*Fuller skirts -- fitted at the waist and flared. Some hemmed above the knee; others longer.

*A special top of some type -- embellished, ruffled, pleated. Not your basic T-shirt or tank.

*Floral dresses. No, make that any patterned dress including abstracts and watercolors -- especially last spring and summer.

*Ladylike handbags.

*Critter hats (pandas, cats, etc.) and, still, trapper hats. A whimsical way to keep your head warm.
