Victor J. Gagliardi of Grand Island, an attorney with the Bouvier Partnership, died Monday at his office. He was 71.
Mr. Gagliardi was born in Buffalo and was a 1957 graduate of Hutchinson-Central Technical High School. He received a full scholarship to the Wharton School of Finance but was unable to attend because of family commitments. He instead attended the University of Buffalo on an industrial and labor relations scholarship, graduating in 1961, and then went on to earn his law degree from UB in 1965.
Mr. Gagliardi was a member of several committees of the Erie County Bar Association and was a judge at mock trials for UB Law School. In 2010, he was chosen one of the top 100 attorneys in Erie County. He also was a member of the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Bernice Sahli; a son V. Brian; and a brother, Nick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Friday in St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2100 Baseline Road, Grand Island.
