HEUER, Lee A., Sr.

HEUER - Lee A., Sr.
Age 77 of Gettysburg, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 26, 2010 at his home. He had spent Christmas day surrounded by his loving family. Lee was born May 21, 1933 in Buffalo, New York. Son of the late John and Ida (Stratman) Heuer, he is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jean M. (Story) Heuer.
Lee proudly served his country during the Korean War serving with the United States Air Force. He worked for 24 years with Herff Jones in Gettysburg as the Bindery Supervisor, volunteered his time and efforts with the Adams County SPCA and always had his faithful companion, Jake, a yellow lab near by. Lee was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved woodworking and during his retirement years could often be found in his basement working on a project, usually something for someone else. He was a life member of the Adams County Fish & Game
Association. In addition to his wife, Jean, Lee is survived by two sons, William Heuer and his wife Mary of Gettysburg, Lee A. Heuer, Jr. and his wife Florence of Aspers, PA., three daughters, Linda Leach of Gettysburg, Debby Kennedy and her husband Michael of Fairfield, PA and Kathy Johnson of Annapolis, MD.; ten grandchildren, Jason Matte, Sarah Swartz, Marshall Kennedy, Daniel Heuer, Jennifer Heuer, Jessica Johnson, Corinne Johnson, Keri Johnson, Andrew Heuer and Emilee Reyes; eight great-grandchildren and a brother, Earl Heuer of Buffalo, NY. He was predeceased by three siblings, Richard Heuer, Ruth Kechelmacher and June Sorger.
A Celebration of Lee's Life will be held at a future date. Online condolences can be made at monahanfh.com. Memorials in his memory can be made to the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd.
