Q: What happened to "Saving Grace" with Holly Hunter? Is it coming back in the near future?

-- Kathie Arwood, Pueblo, Colo.

A: Neither in the near nor distant future. By the time the final episodes ran from March to June this year, it was reasonably well-known that would be the TNT show's last stand. Some of those episodes actually had been intended as part of the series' third season, but they were held over to form a fourth and final round.

Interestingly, it wasn't the network that canceled the show in this case; it was the production company, Fox Television Studios, which cited problematic overseas sales of "Grace" as the reason for deciding not to continue making the series.

Q: Could you tell me if my favorite summer shows -- "Rizzoli & Isles," "Covert Affairs" and "Scoundrels" -- will be back?

-- Beth Byrne, Steep Falls, Maine

A: We can say "yes" on two out of three. The first two were renewed by their respective networks (the Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander-starring "Rizzoli" by TNT and the Piper Perabo-starring "Covert" by USA) before their initial runs ended, and the second seasons for both likely will start next summer. The news isn't as happy for "Scoundrels," since ABC decided against ordering a second season.
