For holiday decor, we love the look of glistening "sugared" fruits. These can be piled into a clear glass bowl. Arranged on a cake pedestal. Used to accent garlands and wreaths.
Some people make their own sugar-glazed fruit to be used for decorating their homes, using real fruit, egg whites and sugar (find how-to instructions on the Internet as well as in the December issue of Martha Stewart Living).
Others find themselves some frosty faux fruit. Either way, the look has long been part of traditional holiday decor. The grapes are gorgeous. Sugared pears, apples and lemons divine.
