Amateur athletes, teams and organizations in need of financial assistance are encouraged to apply to the Amateur Sports Development Fund (ASDF). The ASDF, established in 1993, is supported by the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame and is financed by proceeds from the annual induction dinner. Funds are awarded to amateur athletes, teams and organizations seeking financial assistance to foster the pursuit of a higher level of athletic achievement. For an application visit GBSHOF.com.
The coaching staff of the University at Buffalo baseball team will hold four separate sessions to allow baseball players of all ages to learn fundamentals and improve their all-around game. The Showcase camp is for high school players and junior college players looking to show off their skills. The session will be held from 1-7 p.m. on Sunday at the North Amherst Recreation Center. Cost of the camp is $80.
The following day a hitting clinic will be available for youths ages 12-18 and will run from 9 a.m.-noon. The cost is $50.
On the same day, there will be a clinic for pitchers and catchers from 1-4 p.m. Cost is $50.
The final session will be held at Alumni Arena from 9 a.m.-noon next Tuesday and geared towards youth baseball players. The skills clinic will be open for ages 6-12. Cost is $75.
Bundle deals will be available for those who wish to attend more than one session.

FOOTBALL: The Fourth Annual Ice Breakers Football Coaches seminar will take place Jan. 8 at the Millennium Airport Buffalo hotel, 2040 Walden, Ave., Cheektowaga. Tickets are $39 per coach or $199 for the entire staff (up to eight coaches). Registration will be from 8-8:45 a.m.The last session of the day goes from 4:30-5:10 p.m.
